The 10th Pinot Noir Summit - Saturday, February 25, 2012

Gioia's 2009 Pinot Noir has been awarded a Gold Medal at The 10th Pinot Noir Shootout. The competition was fierce and the panel was amazed that there were so many stellar wines. The 10th Pinot Noir Shootout panel tasted and evaluated over 350 outstanding Pinot Noirs.

9th Annual STARS of Santa Barbara at The Peninsula Hotel Beverly Hills

Persian-Inspired Savory Rose Jam: a peppery, tangy-yet-floral jam that brings forth a smooth earthiness in gamier meats and pungent cheeses. Paired well with talleggio and such cheeses of the stinkier variety, this jam wraps its exotic romance around a sour note to awaken a passionate union. Excellent with red or white wines.

East-West Winter Chutney: The marriage of crisp granny smith apples and cranberries with the flavors of the Middle and Far East give this chutney a flavor profile that spans not only the continents, but also the five basic tastes: sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and umami. As a compliment to baked chicken and slow-cooked herby winter meats, the flavors play well with a wide range of fresh and dried herbs, as well as just about any wine or cheese. A diverse addition to any table, this chutney stands tall against any backdrop, either as a condiment or as the central focus of a cheese plate.

1st Annual Los Angeles Food & Wine - October 13-16, 2011

Hospitality entrepreneurs and founders of Pebble Beach Food & Wine, Robert Weakley and David Alan Bernahl of Coastal Luxury Management, together with dick clark productions (dcp) and AEG announce the debut of Los Angeles Food & Wine, coming October 2011 to L.A. LIVE, the downtown Los Angeles sports & entertainment district and other locations throughout the city of Los Angeles.

This new breed of culinary festival will gather all-star talent from both the entertainment and culinary platforms to celebrate the very best in food and drink culture throughout Los Angeles. More than 100 celebrity chefs will lead demonstrations, seminars, lunches, dinners, and dedicated after-hours events featuring tastings from over 300 premier international wineries. Famed chefs participating in the citywide celebration are among the country's finest, including Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Wolfgang Puck, Nancy Silverton, Masaharu Morimoto, Tyler Florence, Michael Chiarello, Michael Mina, Sang Yoon, David Myers, Rory Herrmann, Walter Manzke, Sherry Yard, Josiah Citrin, David Myers and Ludo Lefebvre.

Chef Thomas Keller says, "I am proud to take part in the first Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival this coming October. LAFW, presented by American Express Publishing, is a four-day epicurean event taking place October 13-16, 2011 that matches celebrities from television, film, music and sport with celebrity chefs with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Los Angeles Chapters of Meals On Wheels.
